Feeling overwhelmed by medical expenses? Confused by procedure codes, provider charges and balances? Not sure if your health care bills are fair or accurate?
CoPatient™ audits your bills to help you save money
CoPatient can help you organize and understand your medical bills—and it may save you money in the process. CoPatient offers a free expert review of your health care bills. CoPatient tools look for billing errors and overcharges. If mistakes are found, your CoPatient medical advocate can file an appeal to make corrections or negotiate with your doctor, hospital or other health care providers on your behalf. Your medical advocate understands the medical billing business and will make the phone calls and file the paperwork so you can focus on your health.
How does it work?
It's easy to get started.
- You'll submit information about your insurance along with copies of recent bills, which are audited at no charge to you.
- If CoPatient finds a billing error or overcharge by your provider, your CoPatient medical advocate will contact you to determine whether to file an appeal on your behalf.
- If you decide to move forward with appeals on billing errors, CoPatient will charge a percent of your savings.
- You don't pay CoPatient anything until you receive a refund or reduced medical bill.
CoPatient offers BridgeSpan members a special discount—you'll pay only 20 percent of whatever you've saved on the corrections. For example, if CoPatient finds and arranges $1,000 of savings or reimbursement, you'll be charged $200; for $100 of savings, you'll be charged $20. You'll receive the benefit of a refund or reduced medical bill.
